A36 Steeple Langford resurfacing works – 1 April to 14 May 2019

Highways England will shortly be undertaking a programme of resurfacing works on the A36 at Steeple Langford.

The works

The road surface is reaching the end of its serviceable life and is showing some signs of cracking and fretting, so these works will look to rectify these defects. Once the works are complete, road users should notice a smoother and quieter road surface. Nearby residents should notice less road noise from passing vehicles.

When

Start date: Monday 1 April 2019 End date: Tuesday 14 May 2019

The scheme will take approximately 7 weeks to complete.

Traffic Management

The works will be carried out overnight, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8pm and 6am, utilising full carriageway closures of the A36.

Highways England will be carrying out the works in phases on different sections of the A36. These will be as follows:

  • 1 April to 5 April 2019 – full southbound closure from Cotley to Deptford

  • 5 April to 10 May 2019 – full southbound and northbound closure between Deptford and Salisbury

  • 10 May to 14 May 2019 – full southbound closure from Cotley to Deptford

During these closures, fully signed diversion routes will be in place.

Please note that whilst Highways England always aim to work to the programme, unforeseen circumstances may mean slight changes to it. Highways England will always aim to notify you of any major changes within the programme but please monitor www.trafficengland.com/ to keep up-to-date.

Highways England would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption the work may cause you. Highways England will of course make every effort to ensure that the impact on the local community is kept to the absolute minimum.

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times during the works. For the safety of the Highways England workforce, it may be necessary to be escorted through the closures by our traffic management contractors. Highways England thank you in advance for your patience.

If you have any queries or comments about the works and would like further information, please contact the Highways England Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or by email: info@highwaysengland.co.uk
